Bakony–Balaton UNESCO Global Geopark

The Lake Cave, which extends for 13 km below the city of Tapolca, allows visitors to paddle the waters of an underground lake.The geopark boasts several Romanic and Gothic churches and defensive fortresses such as those of Veszprém and Palota. Whole streets of stone buildings with arched porches and stone castle fences have been preserved such as those of Magyarpolány, Vöröstó and Szigliget.Visit the curious ‘seas of stones’ around the Káli Basin.
